The National Examinations Council (NECO) has awarded diffrent categories of Honours to outstanding Staff, Retirees, and Students at its 2025 Awards ceremony.
Speaking at the ocassion, the Registrar/Chief Executive officer of NECO, Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi said the event which took place at the NECO headquarters along the Minna-Bida road is aimed at celebrating hardwork, dedication to duty and successes of the beneficiaries.
Celebrating dedicated staff who distinguished themselves in their places of duty, external partners, and top-performing candidates according to Professor Wushishi is part of NECO's way of encouraging members of staff to achieve national and international mandate.
Professor Wushishi commended operational resilience of NECO staff who work round the clock and sometimes under challenging conditions, describing them as the, “Armies of NECO”.
The award ceremony featured across several key categories, including
Certificates of Service to 2025 Retirees: Honouring retired personnel for their years of meritorious service and their vital contributions to NECO.
Hardworking and Dedicated Staff category: recognizing outstanding personnel across the Registrar’s Office, departments, zonal directorships, state offices, and liaison units.
Best Coordinator of the Year 2025: Celebrating exemplary leadership, integrity, and effective supervision at the state level.
Best Driver of the Year 2025: Acknowledging operational excellence, safety, and punctuality in transport support services.
Excellent Performance in Other Areas: Highlighting exceptional contributions outside core administrative and examination roles.
Special Awards for Best Performing Male and Female Students (2025 Examinations): Celebrating top-achieving candidates whose exceptional results reflect hard work, discipline, and perseverance.
The Registrar who reaffirmed NECO's dedication to continuous improvement said the Council remains focused on strengthening accountability and preserving the credibility of its examinations globally.
Also speaking, the Chairman Governing Board of NECO, Professor Modupe Adeola Adelabu, represented at the event reiterated the board’s commitments to fostering culture of excellence, hard work, and continuous improvement for NECO. NNL.
