Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has led former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on an inspection tour of upgraded facilities at the Yankari Game Reserve as part of efforts to reposition the tourist destination.

The inspection focused on key projects undertaken by the state government to improve infrastructure, attract more visitors and enhance the overall tourism experience at the reserve.

Governor Bala and the former President inspected the newly installed 500KVA solar power farm, which is expected to provide a more reliable and sustainable electricity supply to the facility.

The delegation also visited the refurbished Yankari Museum, where efforts have been made to preserve and showcase the historical, cultural and natural heritage of the reserve.

At the iconic Wikki Warm Springs, another major attraction in Yankari, they inspected ongoing and completed renovation works aimed at improving facilities for tourists.

The tour formed part of activities marking Jonathan’s visit to Bauchi, with Governor Bala using the opportunity to highlight the state government’s efforts to transform Yankari into a modern tourist destination.

The administration said the improvements are expected to boost tourism, create economic opportunities and further position Bauchi as a major tourism destination. NNL.
