- Says 'The Eagle Online Will Continue to Fly'

Family of the deceased former president of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP), Mr Dotun Oladipo, has announced that they would continue to sustain his online media organization, The Eagle Online News.
In a statement on Tuesday by Taiwo Oladipo, the family said that option of keeping afloat the media outfit has become necessary because Dotun has already put in place a continuity plan for the Eagle Online and that
many people have also invested their trust in The Eagle Online over the years.
"We do not take that trust for granted. Our intention is to preserve the legacy Dotun worked so hard to build while ensuring that the publication continues to grow and serve its readers effectively.
"Dotun devoted a significant part of his life to journalism. In 2012, he founded The Eagle Online and spent the years that followed building it into a respected digital news publication with a loyal readership, strong name recognition and the confidence of a wide range of advertisers and partners.
"He was deeply passionate about The Eagle Online and regarded it not merely as a business, but as a platform for responsible journalism and public service.
"It is therefore important for us, at this difficult moment, to reassure the numerous readers, advertisers, partners and friends of The Eagle Online that the publication will continue
"In line with best practices, Dotun had foresight to have put in place some form of a business continuity plan. That plan has now been activated and is being refined to sustain the publication in line with his vision.
"We also wish to assure our advertisers and commercial partners that existing relationships and commitments remain important to us. We look forward to your continued confidence and support as we navigate this transition".
The Oladipo family also expressed deep appreciation and thanks to the readers of The Eagle Online, colleagues, friends, advertisers, partners and well-wishers of the digital media outfit who have reached out to them following the sudden passing of their beloved father, husband, brother and friend, Oladotun Samson Oladipo.
According to the family, Dotun's death on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 came as a devastating shock to them and to everyone who knew him. "We are still coming to terms with the enormity of our loss. As our family continues to mourn this loss, we ask for your continued prayers, understanding and support.
"We thank everyone who has stood with the Oladipo Family and The Eagle Online since Dotun’s passing.
Dotun may have left us, but the work to which he devoted so much of his life will continue. The Eagle Online will continue to fly", the statement said. NNL.
