Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Nigerian Army and other security agencies to tackle insecurity and safeguard lives and property across the state.
The governor gave the assurance on Tuesday while receiving the newly appointed General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Maxwell Dangana, who paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Bauchi.
Governor Mohammed congratulated the GOC on his appointment and praised the Nigerian Army for its sacrifices in combating insecurity across the country, particularly in the North-East.
He expressed concern over persistent attacks on farming communities by bandits, warning that such incidents threaten agricultural production and food security in parts of Bauchi State.
The governor also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for swiftly deploying additional military personnel and resources to address the recent security challenges in Alkaleri Local Government Area.
He assured the Army of the state's continued support through enhanced intelligence sharing and closer collaboration aimed at improving security and sustaining peace across Bauchi and neighbouring states.
Earlier, Major General Dangana said his visit formed part of his familiarisation tour following his appointment as GOC 3 Division, with responsibility for military operations in Bauchi, Plateau, Taraba, Gombe and Adamawa states. NNL.
