The Abia State Police Command, on Tuesday, apprehended two suspects for vandalizing and stealing government properties.
The suspects, according to a statement on Tuesday by the Command's Spokeswoman, DSP Maureen Chioma Chinaka, are: Emmanuel Ogonna, male, 23 years, of Lohom, Uzuakoli LGA, Abia State and Ifeanychukwu Oko, male, 25 years, of Lohom, Uzuakoli. Exhibits recovered from them include: Forty-nine (49) pieces of angle irons; Two (2) saws; Three (3) spanners; Three (3) small iron boards and Eighty-six (86) electrical poles.
Leveraging on actionable intelligence, operatives of the Mike Okiro Divisional Police Headquarters, last Friday June 19, 2026, during a stop-and-search operation along Uzuakoli Road, apprehended the above-mentioned suspects in an auto-rickshaw (Keke Napep).
The items recovered from them include forty-nine (49) pieces of angle irons, two (2) saws, three (3) spanners, three (3) small iron boards, and eighty-six (86) electrical poles, all suspected to have been vandalized and stolen.
The suspects made confessional statements, admitting to vandalizing and stealing the listed exhibits recovered, and the case was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.
