There was outrage and strong protests across many countries in Africa and in the social media, as photos that surfaced showed Presidents and leaders of African countries being transported on a coach provided by the United Kingdom government for the leaders attending the burial ceremony of Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey.

Queen Elizabeth II, the UK’s longest-serving monarch, has died at Balmoral aged 96, after reigning for 70 years. Her demise was confirmed by a statement issued from Buckingham Palace.

World Blood Donor Day takes place on 14 June every year. The Day was set aside by the World Health Organization (WHO) to raise global awareness on the need for safe blood and blood products for transfusion.
