Former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and dethroned Emir of Kano, Mallam Lamido Muhammed Sanusi, hinted at the weekend that he will be proceeding to the Oxford University in the United Kingdom in October as a visiting fellow at the institution’s Department of African Studies. Sanusi also said that he will not be available for the 2023 presidential race as being rumored, saying he has no interest in politics, including running for political office.

As Jigawa State government continues to count its loses following the menace of flood arising from last week's heavy downpour, the state government, at the weekend, said that the death toll has risen to twenty, while 50,000 families were displaced and thousands of houses and farmlands destroyed by the flood.
