The following is a report on the above referenced assignment.
The “Adhoc Panel Members” for the 2022 recruitment exercise in Imo State started the exercise as scheduled. The members of the panel were drawn from the personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, Police Service Commission, Ministry of Police Affairs, Federal Character Commission and Police Trust Fund. The then Commissioner for Homeland Security and Vigilante Affairs, Imo State, Dr. Ugorji Okechukwu Ugorji, represented the Imo State government throughout the exercise.
The panel started work on January 8, 2024 and concluded the exercise on January 29, 2024. It was a hitch free and successful exercise.
The total number of candidates that were presented for this exercise in Imo State was Two Thousand, Six Hundred and Eight Seven (2,687), out which One Thousand, Eight Hundred and Sixty Seven (1,867) ultimately went through the screening exercise proper.
The breakdown of the above mentioned figure is in three categories;
i. Category ‘A’ is General Duty - One Thousand Four Hundred and Ninety-Two (1492)
ii. Category ‘B’ is Specialist – Three Hundred and Forty Three ( 343).
iii. Category ‘C’ (Not recommended) – Thirty (32).
All the departments and panelists involved in the exercise worked harmoniously.
The team hereby sincerely thanks the Inspector General of Police for the opportunity to be part of this important National Assignment. Also, our gratitude goes to the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Department of Training & Development (DTD) for providing the necessary environment that led to the successful conclusion of the exercise. Finally, we thank His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodimma, CON of Imo State for both the logistics support and morale boost, which his government brought to the exercise.
