Justice M.L. Abubakar of the Federal High Court, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Monday, November 30, 2020 convicted and sentenced one Udeme Ebio Ekong to prison for oil fraud. He was prosecuted by the Port Harcourt Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on amended one-count charge of obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N2,395,000 (Two Million, Three Hundred and Ninety-five Thousand Naira).

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested thirty-five (35) suspects comprising thirty-four (34) male and one (1) female, for their involvement and indictment in cases of armed robbery, kidnapping and other heinous crimes in some parts of the country.

John Effiong Etim, a witness of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, today narrated how a Point of Sale, PoS, fraud suspect, Austin Christopher Essiet, who is standing trial before Justice Agatha Okeke of the Federal High Court Sitting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State for stealing N150,000 ( One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira) was apprehended.

The Inspector-General of Police, Muhammed Adamu, has ordered Commissioners of Police (CPs) across the thirty-six (36) States of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and their supervisory Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) in the seventeen (17) Zonal Commands, to revamp the security architecture in their Area of Responsibilities (AOR) ahead of the yuletide.
