The Nigeria Police Force, As part of its operational efforts to curb the illegal oil theft and economic sabotage in the country, the Nigeria Police Force in conjunction with the military and other relevant security agencies, has been in active liaison on intelligence sharing and collaboration with Private Security Contractors (PSCs) engaged by the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) particularly Tantita Security Services.

A total of twenty-four (24) suspected drug traffickers and dealers including a 42-year-old man taking thousands of concealed opioid pills to insurgents’ enclave in Banki area of Borno state, a six-month-pregnant lady, a mother of three children and three other women have been arrested in major interdiction operations by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, leading to the seizure of over 7,609 kilograms of assorted illicit drugs in eight states.

Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd) has tasked Zonal Commanders, State Commanders and Area Commanders of the Agency to go all out and smoke out drug barons still in hiding as well as dismantle their cartels as part of ongoing efforts to totally cut off drug supply to elements involved in criminalities across the country.
