It is my honour to address you today 9th September, 2025 as we take stock of the achievements, challenges, and progress recorded in the last six months since my assumption of duty as Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command.

The Anambra State Police Command, under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, PhD, on Wednesday September 10, 2025, decorated 89 (Eighty-Nine) newly promoted Inspectors to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in a colourful ceremony held at the Command Headquarters, Awka.

A 75-year-old grandpa Uchelue Ikechukwu was among six suspects arrested with illicit substances in raids by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in parts of Anambra state just as 30-year-old Alfa Andrew was taken into custody following the destruction of 178, 750 kilograms of skunk on his 71.5 hectares of cannabis farm in Mayodoga forest, Sardauna local council area of Taraba state.

A 50-year-old widow and fashion designer, Mrs. Ifeoma Henrietta Ezewuike has been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) over attempt to traffic 1.3 kilograms of cocaine, using fake pregnancy as a façade to escape scrutiny and detection.
