Residents of Aminu Street in Bauchi metropolis may soon find a lasting solution to their waste disposal challenges following a pledge by the Bala Wunti Support Organisation (BWSO) to construct a standard refuse dumping site in the area.
The promise was made after the organisation's Chief Executive Officer, Malam Mukhtar Ahmed Jarmajo, led a team of officials on an assessment visit to the community.

For years, residents have struggled with the absence of a designated waste disposal point, a situation that often resulted in indiscriminate dumping of refuse and environmental concerns.

Addressing community members, Jarmajo said BWSO was committed to supporting communities through practical interventions that improve living conditions and public health.

He explained that the proposed facility would provide residents with a safe and hygienic location for waste disposal while helping to reduce pollution and sanitation-related health risks.
He further appealed to residents to protect and properly utilise the facility when completed to guarantee its long-term benefits.

Speaking on behalf of residents, Ibrahim Umar Wunti thanked BWSO for what he described as a responsive and people-centred intervention.

According to him, the project will bring much-needed relief to the community and enhance environmental cleanliness in the neighbourhood.

He assured the organisation of the residents' cooperation in ensuring the project's success and sustainability. NNL.
