- * Begins Distribution Of Sensitive Materials To LGAs

The Sokoto State Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said it has distributed sensitive materials for today's Presidential election, assuring that the exercise has commenced simultaneously across all polling units in Sokoto state.
Addressing newsmen shortly after inspecting the materials which comprises of ballot papers and result sheets amongst others, the State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Dr Nura Ali, assured that they are ready for a free, fair and credible election today.
Dr Nura who affirmed that representatives of all the political parties were equally invited to monitor to the exercise, further added that they will scrutinize the ballot papers and result sheets and then begin distribution to the various local governments in an alphabetical order.
While stating that election is going to hold in all the polling units of the State, except for those without registered voters, the REC further disclosed that no security treat whatsoever hence they have been assured by the relevant security agencies.
Giving his assessment of the development, Sokoto State chairman of Inter Party Advisory Committee (IPAC), Hon. Abba Sidi, said they are satisfied with the whole process, adding that it is transparent enough.
He however appealed to the electoral umpires and all other staff likely to be involved in the poll exercise to be fair to all in the discharge of their national assignment by not disenfranchising anybody or group of people.
