In a move seen as reinforcing traditional institutions, Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has distributed vehicles to emirs and district heads across the state.
The distribution, which took place at the Government House, saw 14 emirs and 114 district heads receive official vehicles to enhance their operational capacity and deepen their engagement with local communities.
Governor Mohammed said the intervention is part of a broader strategy to strengthen grassroots leadership structures and ensure effective governance at the community level.
He noted that traditional rulers remain critical stakeholders in the state’s peacebuilding and development efforts, calling on them to maintain neutrality in political matters and uphold the trust reposed in them.
Also speaking, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Isa Babayo Tilde, highlighted the importance of sustained collaboration between government and traditional institutions in fostering unity and stability.
