* As AIG Zone 13 Attends Strategic Conference

The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, on Monday, convened a strategic conference with senior and supervisory officers of the Command, where he reiterated the marching orders of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, with emphasis on professionalism, ethical conduct, and respect for the rights and dignity of citizens.
The CP charged the officers to ensure strict compliance with these directives and to adequately sensitize their subordinates, warning that any conduct to the contrary will attract disciplinary sanctions.
He further directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and heads of investigative units to ensure diligent and professional handling of cases, including the timely release of suspects in bailable matters and proper prosecution where necessary.
CP Giwa also directed the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Intelligence Department (SID) with enhancing the prompt gathering and effective deployment of actionable intelligence.
Area Commanders were similarly directed to strengthen supervision of Divisional Police Officers under their jurisdictions and take proactive measures to prevent security breaches within their areas of responsibility.
The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 13, Ukpo, Anambra State, AIG Abayomi Peter Oladipo, who was on an unscheduled visit to the State, briefly attended the conference. In his remarks, he commended the officers for their contributions to the successes recorded in the Zone and urged them to remain dedicated, disciplined, and professional, while being mindful of their conduct at all times.
The meeting had in attendance Deputy and Assistant Commissioners of Police, Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, heads of tactical and operational units, as well as other sectional heads. NNL.
