A fire outbreak at Wukari popular yam market in Taraba state has destroy thousands of Yam tubers and property worth millions of naira.
The incident occurred in the early hours of this Saturday, February 12, 2022, at about 1 am. As of the time of filing these reports the source of the inferno remains unknown.

Commenting on the incident, the Chairman of Wukari Yam Market, Mr Anthony Agbu, said the inferno destroyed thousands of Yam tubers and seedlings and some properties. He also said properties worth over N200 Million have been lost to the inferno. Agbu appealed to the government and philanthropists to come to their aid.
Wukari Yam Market is one of the largest Yam Market in the Country which provides job opportunities to thousands of people. NNL.
