A coalition of All Progressives Congress (APC) members and support groups in Bauchi State has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the party’s national leadership to uphold the outcome of the recently conducted state congress.

Addressing a press conference in Bauchi on Monday, the group alleged attempts by unnamed stakeholders to alter the results of the congress held between March 3 and 4, 2026.

The coalition insisted that the exercise, which produced Alhaji Muhammad Hassan Tilde as State Chairman, Alhaji Mustapha Zirami as Secretary, and Alhaji Yakubu Muhammed as Organising Secretary, was conducted in line with the APC constitution and monitored by relevant authorities, including INEC and security agencies.

They described moves to replace duly elected officials with defeated candidates as “self-serving” and capable of undermining party unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The group warned that failure to affirm the congress results could jeopardise the party’s growing support base in Bauchi State and affect its chances in future elections.

While noting that other states had since inaugurated their executives, the coalition expressed concern that Bauchi’s delay may be linked to attempts to manipulate the outcome.

They urged the party leadership to intervene promptly to preserve internal democracy and ensure cohesion within the party. NNL.
