  • Hunger Ravages INEC Officials, As BVAS Power Banks Not Charged

People's Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, said on Saturday, that he will definitely win the presidential poll based his overwhelming acceptability across the country and popularity among the Nigerian electorates.

The former Vice President expressed this optimism in Adamawa State shortly after successfully casting his vote at his Ajiya ward 001. Atiku expressed happiness with the voting which he described as smooth and peaceful.

Also, Secretary to the Federal Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Gida Mustapha similarly voted at the Gwadabawa 22 polling unit. He was accredited before voting by 1pm.

Mallam Nuhu Ribadu the pioneer Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), was also accredited and he voted at Bako ward Aliyu Musdafa Collage gate polling unit.

The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Adamawa State and Senator representing Adamawa Central in the Senate, Senator Aishatu Ahmed Dahiru Binani, also voted at Korea primary school polling unit in Yola South Local Government Area.

Speaking after casting his vote, the SGF, Boss Mustapha, said much depended on Nigeria to get it right this time around so that African countries would have confidence in our Democratic dispensation. He said the BVAS machines were all working normal as he had successfully thumb printed his voter's card and voted after his picture was taken.

At Yola South Local Government Area Units 004, 357, 005, 006 at Hammawa Primary school, there were shortages of election ink, and INEC officials had complained about hunger while the power banks for the BVAS were not charged.

In other places in Yola South, the BVAS network was not working. At unit 009, 756 persons were accredited but voting did not commenced until 10am.

In Mubi, Adamawa State, voting was generally peaceful while in Southern Adamawa reports said Senator Dr. Grace Jackson Bent was accredited and she voted at Dong in Demsa Local Government Area. NNL.
