As rumors of his rift with the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdulahi Adamu, continues to make the rounds in Nigeria's political circle, the party's Presidential flagbearer, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has said no such quarrels exists between them.
He said rumors mongers and mischief makers were behind such tales, stating that they were free to engage in such pastime. Tinubu who holds the title of Jagaban of Borgu, also said he learnt about the rumors of the so-called rift in the media, which, according to him, was designed to achieve a pre-determined agenda.
Tinubu made the clarification when he spoke at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja on Wednesday shortly before he held a closed door deliberation with the members of the APC National Working Committee (NWC) including Senator Adamu.
Tinubu said thus: “To the rumour manufacturers, I read in some papers about a disagreement between myself and the chairman. That was a very big lie. They didn’t know that we have come a long way. The big masquerade dance not in the cage but in the market square.
“And that is what Adamu use to be, full of wisdom. We were governors together, before God put us together on this project again. He is going to deliver as the chairman of the party for me to become the President of Nigeria. And I am very confident of that.
“They can say whatever they want to say, throw all the jabs that they want. We are a party strongly determined to fulfil our dreams of turning Nigeria into a very progressive, highly developed, prosperous country.” NNL.
