The Chairman of the Taraba Madrid and Timbers Buyers Association has urged the public and relevant authorities to disregard the purported dissolution of the association and the passage of a vote of no confidence on the leadership of the group by some purported members of the Board Of Trustee of the Association.
According to a release issued by the Chairman Taraba Madrid and Timber buyers Association, Comrade Josiah Magaji, the four people who organized the said press briefing, Ebwai Umar Tukura, Samuel B. Iliya, Alhaji Yakubu Zorto, and Alhaji Murtala Umar were never members of the Board Of Trustees of the association.
The statement said they were dismissed by the association between 2019 and 2020 for Financial embezzlement.
It said all of the Men since the 10th of March 2020 were appointed and hold various offices with the Process Wood Producers and Marketers Association of Nigeria (PROWPMAN) and wondered how they will disband an association they are not members of.
The statement described the Four Men as people bent on causing disharmony in the association. It said the Taraba Madrid and Timber Buyer Association are still very much in operation.
The statement also disclosed that the association in June 2021, in a delegate Conference that was held in June 2021 in Jalingo with delegates from the 16 Local Government Areas of the State, re-elected its Chairman, Comrade Josiah Magaji, for another four years term after the expiration of its first four years tenure.
The association urged it members and the general public to disregard the dissolution information and enjoined its members to continue with their lawful activities.
The association also re-affirmed its commitment to the afforestation drives of the governor Darius Ishaku led administration. It said last year, it started its Five Million Trees in five years Tree Planting Campaign which it began in Mbamga, Gembu, and Bakin Dutse.
It reiterated its commitment and loyalty to the Darius Ishaku led administration especially its afforestation Campaign.
The Taraba Madrid/Timber Buyers Association calls on the "relevant authorities in the State to advise the four disparate individuals who are bent on causing confusion to stop misinforming the general public about the association.
The statement noted that the association has prominent elders as Board of Trustee members and Patrons and non of the four in question is a member of the Board of Trustee and Patron.
It also want the general public, the security agencies and the State Ministry of Environment to take note that it has nothing to do with those individuals. NNL.
