The Sokoto State Advancement Forum (SAF) has said they are a non partisan group of professional from different fields of human endeavours that have come together to advance the cause of the state.
SAF made this declaration shortly after being denied venue to host their proposed "Brainstorming Session On Coping With Youth Drug Abuse in Sokoto State". They assured that they remained undaunted in their commitment towards contributing to the development of Sokoto State.
SAF in a press release by it's Secretary General, Alhaji Malami Ladan, noted that despite making payment for the hall, management of Sokoto Guest Inn hotels only called them Friday night to express regret over why the event can no longer hold in their premises.
"It is pertinent to mention that all necessary arrangements were made for the conduct of the programme but late evening on Friday 1st May, 2026, the attention of the Forum was drawn by the management of Sokoto Guest Inn that the programme should not hold. "Accordingly, the management of the hotel made a refund of the fees paid for the event and stated clearly that "the Power That Be" has instead against the conduct of the brainstorming session".
Submitting their stand, the Secretary General, Malami Ladan posited that, 'The Forum remained non-partisan and will continously seek the support of the Government and all patriotic citizens in the pursuit it it's objectives. It will consistently toe this path and will be focused against the misrepresentation of mischief makers".
Recall that the Sokoto Advancement Forum (SAF) is a body comprising academics with several professors, former Vice Chancellor's, Technocrats, business moguls and numerous other professionals that are indigenes of the state coming together to contribute their quota via chatting a short medium and long term progress pathway for the state.
