In their determined efforts towards repositioning the party in Sokoto state, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the immediate dissolution of the Sokoto state executive committee of the party.
This decision which was followed with the immediate appointment of caretaker committee was contained in a statement signed by Hon. Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, the party's National Publicity Secretary said the decision was taken in accordance with Article 29(2)(b) of the party’s constitution.
The statement which listed Hon Hayatu Tafida as Chairman of the caretaker committee also named others members to include, Garba M Duka, Ibrahim Dagara, Hadiza Abubakar Tambuwal, Hajia Inno Attahiru, Zayyan S Marafa, Faisal Jubrin, Hon Kabiru Aliyu, Abdulqadir Umar Gidadawa, Zainab Nasser Dogondaji, Hon Musa Abubakar Girkau, Mohammed Abubakar Shinko, Aliyu Abubakar Alkammawa, Hajiya Maryam kende and Ahmed S Pawa as Secretary.
Stating the expected roles of the Committee, Hon. Jungodo Haruna said they are charged with the responsibility of managing the affairs of the Party in their State as stipulated in section 21(2) (a-b) of PDP Constitution.
While noting that the appointment takes immediate effect, Jungodo said the tenure of this committee shall be for a period of 30 days, or until such a time as new Executive committee is elected.
