Publisher of National Record, Comrade Iduh L. Onah, has lost his father, Elder Abah Lazarus Onah. Elder Onah died in the early hours of Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at an estimated age of 83 years. He hails from Ogene in Amejo Ward, Edumoga District of Okpokwu LGA of Benue State, North Central, Nigeria.
A brief statement by the family, signed by Barrister Theresa Onyikwu Abah, the deceased's granddaughter, said the octogenarian passed on from diabetes-related illness.
A devout Catholic and member of the Catholic Men Organisation (CMO) as well as the Holy Family, Elder Pa Onah was widowed in 2012 when he lost his lifelong partner, Mrs Onyikwu Theresa Onah, vowing not to remarry as he was never going to get used to another woman.
A father, grandfather and great-grandmother, Pa Onah is survived by eight children – Comrade Onah, Mrs Janet Agbo, Mrs Maria Ameh, Mrs Jumbia Etuka; Mrs Margarete Oji, Mrs Mary Oheitonye, Mr Sunday, Mr Onah J. Onah, and Dr (Mrs) Juliana Ejeikwu.
