Nasarawa State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Hon. Ibrahim Musa has said the State would soon turn their waste materials to wealth as plans are underway to recycle all their waste materials for sale.

The Commissioner disclosed this shortly after a routine monthly sanitation exercise in Lafia, the state capital. He said the Federal Government under the ecological office, has provided a recycling plan and the work has reached an advanced stage of completion. Musa also stated that what the ministry is doing now is to install the machines that would ease the work in the state.

According to the Commissioner, "Very soon, the waste is going to be a scarce commodity in Nasarawa State because there is a plan to recycle all waste materials and turn it to wealth. We have already had off-takers on the ground that are ready to buy pallets after the recycling. We advise the people of Nasarawa State to continue to comply with our directive because dumping of waste materials at water channels is not good for us," he said.

He also informed that on the day of the last sanitation exercise, about 18 violators were arrested and charged to court for necessary sanctions.

The commissioner further applauded the people of Nasarawa State for complying with the Ministry's directive on ensuring a clean environment for good health in the State. NNL.
