With less than 24 hours to May 29, the day of inauguration of new leaders in Nigeria, Mr Bello Sani Danlijan, the Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 10, comprising Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara States, has assured of adequate security measure in the aforementioned States.
Dalijan who disclosed that they have beefed up security after the conclusion of the 2023 general elections, appealed to the public to cooperate with the security agencies to help rid their communities of bad eggs.
Addressing newsmen at the Sokoto State headquarters of Zone 10, AIG Bello Sani Dalijan, said, "We have reinforced the three state commands with additional manpower by deploying officers and men of the zone across the three states".
Continuing, he said the arrangements therefore means that, "The Inauguration ceremonies at the three states have been catered for security wise. I have directed Command Commissioners of Police and other sister security agencies to carry out heavy deployments to fortify venues of the Inauguration ceremonies in their various states".
While assuring that there will be water tight security across the 3 States, the Police AIG noted that they are working in synergy with the state governments, private sectors and other security agencies to provide security within the zone before, during and after the inauguration ceremony.
The AIG, Bello Sani Dalijan, however, advised the members of the public to be security conscious and report any suspicious incidents or happenings observed within their neighbourhood
