Stakeholders of Bauchi South Senatorial District in the state have solicited for support from the Senator representing the areas, Senator Shehu Buba, to intensify action and ensure the completion of all abundant federal government roads projects in the district.
Besides, the calls on the Senator who is Chairman, Senate Committee on National Security and Intelligent, to bring to an end the issue of insecurity in the eight local governments areas under his constituency.
The eight local government area councils under South Senatorial District comprises of Bauchi, Alkaleri, Toro, Dass, Tafawa Balewa, Bagoro, Kirfi
The calls were made at a one-day stakeholders interactive session organised by Bauchi South Senatorial District at the weekend at the Event Centre in Bauchi.
In their separate speeches, a stakeholder, Maryam Bagel, drew the attention of the Senator on the several FG road projects which has been neglected by the previous administration and which links the affected Constituency to five state's of Platuea, Kaduna, Gombe, Taraba and Adamawa respectively.
Another stakeholder, Aminu Tukur, noted that the Constituency's security situation is becoming worrisome and alarming, urging the Senator to find ways of addressing the issues, especially the farmer's- harders clashes.
Earlier in his welcome addressed, the chairman of the occasion, Alhaji Ibrahim Marafa, thanked the Senator for organising the event which provides a platform for discussions.
Responding, the chairman, Senate Committee on Security, Senator Shehu Buba, appreciated the stakeholders for their foresight, saying that as a politician and leader, I understand what it's means to have a support of the people.
According to him, this kind of gathering was a sure way of realistic and sustainable path to achieving the socio political, educational and other developmental goals of Bauchi South Senatorial District.
"We need the wisdom of our elders, support and encouragement of our traditional rulers, the sound ideas of our scholars, guidance of religious clerics, energy and commitment of youth to move forward, the Senator added.
Other highlights of the event was the presentation of the blueprint of the programs and policies as well as gifts to the lawmaker. NNL.
