The Bauchi State Police Command has urged parents and guardians to strengthen child safety awareness following the successful rescue of a four-year-old boy allegedly abducted from Gida Dudu Housing Estate.
The advice came after detectives arrested two suspects in connection with the incident and safely recovered the child.
Police investigations indicate that the victim was allegedly lured from his residence by one of the suspects, who later concealed him at another resident's house while demanding a N5 million ransom from the family.
The child was rescued unharmed during a targeted operation carried out by detectives from the State Intelligence Department.
Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, praised the professionalism of the officers involved and emphasized the importance of vigilance by parents and community members.
He advised families to educate children about the dangers of following strangers and encouraged residents to promptly report suspicious activities to security agencies.
The Command assured the public that all persons found culpable would face prosecution in accordance w
