President Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday, met behind closed door with the General Overseer (GO), Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, at the State House, Abuja.
Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo and Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, were at the meeting which lasted for about an hour.
A source said the agenda of the meeting between the president and the 78-year-old religious leader “centres on the CAMA Law which is generating controversy all over the country”.
Led by Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Christian leaders have kicked against it, saying it is an attempt by the government to take over the Church. Osinbajo, last week, declared that the law may be sent to the National Assembly for amendment.
Adeboye had in 2017 visited the president in London, who then was on medical vacation.
The Redeemed Christian Church of God is a Pentecostal mega church and denomination founded in Lagos by the late Pastor Akindayomi from Ondo City, Ondo State with millions of followers. NNL.
