Nigeria's former vice president, Atiku Abubakar has emerged victorious in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential primaries conducted in Sokoto state having pulled 68,823 votes to defeat other contestants.

Declaring the presidential primaries result at the State party's secretariat, the state chairman ADC's presidential primary elections committee, Processor Aliyu Abubakar said the election was very peaceful and all inclusive.

According to Prof. Abubakar, a total of 69,431 total votes were cast, while Rotimi Amechi got 292 votes and Muhammed Hayatudeen secured 319 votes.

'"By the power vested in me as the chairman of the state presidential election committee, I, Professor, Aliyu Abubakar hereby declared Atiku Abubakar as the winner of the Sokoto State ADC presidential election primaries".

Party loyalists at the declaration include the state leader of the party, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, the state party governorship candidate, Manir Dan'Iya, Senatorial candidates like Faruk Malami Yabo, Mani Maichinko, the state party chairman, Hon. Maigwandu and numerous others. NNL.
