The kidnapped District Head of Wawa in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger state, Dr. Mahmoud Ahmed Aliyu (Ki Ali the 11), has finally regained freedom from suspected Fulani militia after spending 47 days with his abductors.

Ahmed Aliyu, was abducted from his palace in the first week of last month. He re-united with his family and subjects Tuesday night amidst tears, hugs and celebrations by the community who had expressed gratitude to the Almighty Allah for bringing him back alive.

Though looking very frail and relaxed, a source from Borgu confirmed to NIGERIAN NEWSLEADER Correspondent how the Monarch gave account of his 47 days sojourn in the kidnapper's den, saying that he was not tortured, insulted or suffered any form of mistreatment from the abductors.

The Second Class Monarch who however attributed his travails as being predestined by the Almighty Allah, said he took all that he went through in the hand of his abductors in good faith, but however grateful to Allah for sparing his life.

While expressing appreciation to all those who contributed financially and in any other form to ensure his release, the Distric Head was particular about the support of the Niger state government led by Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello.

“I wish to express gratitude to the state Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello and the member representing Borgu Local Government Area in State House of Assembly, Hon. Bala Mohammed Abba, Borgu Local Government Chairman, Alhaji Suleiman Yumu and all those who contributed both morally, spiritually and financially towards my freedom”.

Members of the community whose joy knew no bounds, also expressed happiness and gratitude for the safe return of their District Head in a hale and hearty condition while also praying that God brings to an end all forms of security threats that have made victims become refugees in their own land.

Though the sum paid as ransom before his release was not made public due to the state government’s stance on not paying ransom to armed bandits, NEWSLEADER Correspondent learnt that monies were contributed to buy freedom for Dr. Mahmoud Ahmed Aliyu. NNL.
