The new Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Police Command, Mr. Maiyaki Muhammed Baba, has assumed duty in the state with a promise to fight crimes and criminality. He solicited the support and cooperation of all Stakeholders in the State.
CP Maiyaki Muhammed Baba, an investigative giant, Operational tactician and astute administrator, was born on October 24, 1963 and hails from Bida, Niger State.
He enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on March 3, 1990 and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in International Studies from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and a post graduate Diploma in Strategic Studies from University of Calabar.
He served as Divisional Police Officer in Lagos, FCT and Ogun State; Officer in charge of monitoring unit, zone 2 and 5, Lagos and Edo State respectively.
"As an Assistant Commissioner of Police, he was posted to head the State Criminal and Investigation Department, Gusau, Zamfara and Assistant Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations in Anambra State respectively.
CP Maiyaki Muhammed Baba in a statement issued in Lafia by the Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramham Nansel, was Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations in Borno and Katsina State, Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of State Criminal Investigation Department Anambra and Kaduna State.
He also served as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Finance and Administration, Zone 14, Katsina State and Deputy Commissioner of Police, Finance and Administration, Kebbi State.
The statement added that until his promotion to the rank of Commissioner of Police and posted to Nasarawa State, CP Mayaki has undergone some courses of career advancement such as Advance Detective course, 1995, Intermediate Command course and internal security/low intensity conflict course both in 2009.
CP Mayaki who is a recipient of many awards, takes over from AIG Adesina Soyemi who has been posted to Markudi, Benue State as the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 4. NNL.
