The Taraba state Governor, Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku, in his quest to reduce the rate of unemployment and to tackle youths restiveness in the state, has given out employment letters to 28 youths during the Christmas and new year period.

Governor Ishaku did this shortly after meeting with all the third class Chiefs in the southern zone of the state including women and youths who came to pay him Christmas homage in his home town Takum .

They called on Governor Ishaku to contest for Senate come 2023 to represent them at the National Assembly.

During the stake holders meeting with the governor, the Kundi of Stukundi Chiefdom, Chief Musa Ba,aku Awudu who spoke on behalf of his colleagues said, Ishaku is the most qualified person to represent them in the Senate come 2023 as a result of his antecedents in the state as a Governor for the second term.

Speaking earlier, the state PDP chairman colonel. Agbu Kefas (retd) who led the delegation, said governor Ishaku had justified the mandate given to him by Tarabans within the period of his first and second tenure by transforming Taraba state to what it has become now.

According to him, Jalingo the state capital now wears a new look hence the need for them to compensate Governor Ishaku with Senate position to enable him attract Federal Government presence to the state.

In his response, the Governor who was visibly overwhelmed with joy, appreciated them for choosing him to be their senator in 2023. Governor Ishaku however assured them that he was determined to serve his them in any capacity with all sense of commitment and dedication.

His words “I am here for you all, each time you call me to represent you at any level, I am ever ready even though it's tasking and demanding but, I have no choice but to answer your call because of three reasons:

First, you wanted a political father which you believe I am the right Man. Second, for me to remain relevant and the only way to maintain relevancy is to remain in politics. Third, for you to reward me for performing well as your Governor. These three reasons are cogent and have actually convinced me to answer your call to contest for Senate come 2023"

He added that, "I work my talk ,I don't say what I can't do because Taraba is a state that is endowed with natural resources”, Governor Ishaku stressed.

In an interview with our Correspondent, some of the employees, Mr. Ngah Yakubu, a lecturer posted to the Taraba state University and Ms. Ladi Tanko Nyajon, a Midwife posted to the Specialist Hospital in Jalingo, spoke on behalf of their colleagues. They thanked the Governor for employing them in the State Civil Service and promised to discharge their duties effectively to contribute their quota to the development of Taraba state.

He added that their loyalty to the "Rescue Captain", Arch Ishaku's administration will remain unflinching.

In a related development, the wife of the Governor Barr. Anna Darius Ishaku organized a Christmas Party for the Children where they dined and wined and went home with assorted gifts.
