President Bola Ahmed Representative, on Tuesday, approved the appointment of a new Chairman, Board and Management of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
In a statement in Abuja on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 by the President's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu said the appointment of the new board and management took immediate effect.
Those appointed as Chairman and members of the new NDDC Board include, Mr Chiedu Ebie (Chairman, from Delta State); Dr. Samuel Ogbuku (Managing Director/CEO, from Bayelsa State) and Mr. Boma Iyaye (Executive Director of Finance and Admin, from Rivers State).
Others are Mr. Victor Antai (Executive Director for Projects, from Akwa Ibom State) and Mr Ifedayo Abegunde (Executive Director of Corporate Services, from Ondo State).
Among the new board members are: Senator Dimaro Denyanbofa (State Representative, from Bayelsa State); Mr. Abasi Nkono (State Representative, from Akwa Ibom State); Hon. Monday Igbuya (State Representative, from Delta State) and Chief Tony Okocha (State Representative, from Rivers State).
Other members are: Hon Patrick Aisowieren (State Representative, from Edo State); Mr Kyrian Uchegbu (State Representative, from Imo State); Victor Kolade Akinjo (State Representative, from Ondo State); Chief Dimgba Eruba (State Representative, from Abia State) and Mr Asu Oku Okang (State Representative, from Cross River State).
The members of the new board from the zones include, Hon. Nick Wende (Zonal Representative, from North Central Zone); Hon. Namdas Abdulrazak (Zonal Representative, from North East Zone) and Senator Ibrahim Abdullahi Gobir (Zonal Representative, from North West Zone).
The Presidential statement said, “The President expects that the new board and management team will ensure a new era of successful administration in the NDDC, in line with his Renewed Hope agenda.”
The new chairman of the NDDC, Mr Chiedu Ebie, is a lawyer and former Secretary to the Delta State Government (SSG). Before then, he had served as Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education in Delta. Ebie also was former Managing Director/CEO of Millenium Oil and Gas. He presided over one of Nigeria’s indigenous hydrocarbon exploration and production companies. NNL.
