Members of the Federation of Muslim Women's Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN), Bauchi State chapter, have elected new officials to lead the organization for a two-year term.
The election took place at the association's office in the Government Reserved Area (GRA), Bauchi, with 55 delegates participating in the exercise.
Hajiya Lami Umar Hassan emerged as the new chairperson, taking over from Hajiya Habiba Usman Sa’ad.
The electoral committee chairperson, Hajiya Fatima Abdulkadir Dahuwa, announced the results and commended members for ensuring a peaceful and orderly election.
Other officials elected include Hajiya A’isha Ahmed Aminu (Vice Chairperson), Amatullah Yahaya Aliyu (Secretary), Hajiya Hadiza Mudi Abdullah (Assistant Secretary), Kabirat Abdurrazak (Treasurer), Altine Yusuf (Financial Secretary), Amina Umar (PRO), and Amina Ahmed (Assistant PRO).
The committee also elected Hauwa Danjuma Ladan as Da’awah Officer, while Hajiya Habiba Usman Sa’ad and Muyibat Sadiq will serve as Ex-Officio members.
Election coordinator Hajiya A’isha Ibrahim Kilishi supervised the process, which observers described as smooth and successful.
The swearing-in ceremony has been scheduled for next week. NNL.
