Taraba state Governor, Darius Dickson Ishaku, on Monday, commissioned the Nukkai Ultra-Modern primary school in Jalingo, the state capital, which was conceived and executed by his administration.
The governor in his speech during the inauguration of the magnificent modern school, said, with the facilities, the school can compete favorably at both state and national levels.
The Taraba Governor stated that the government had provided sporting facilities, water supply and good access roads to enhance total learning for the pupils.
The governor who was represented by his deputy, Haruna Manu, asserts that, “You will recall that on March 25th, I had the honour of commissioning the DDI Model School in Gembu, complete with cutting-edge educational resources and learning facilities; one of three projects located in each senatorial zone.
“The building in question is one of many that I have commissioned in the last few days, including the 22-kilometer Pantinapu-NYSC permanent orientation camp dual road, which former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan GCFR graciously commissioned on the 19th of May, 2023, More projects are scheduled for commissioning in the coming days as we demonstrate to the public the fulfillment of our promise.
“As you are all very much aware, one area that this administration will leave an indelible mark on is the massive investment we have made in education, both in personnel and infrastructure”, he said.
He further stated that at the inception of his administration, there were problems of a high number of out-of-school children and dilapidated structures and facilities in primary and secondary schools in the state but his administration has achieved tremendously in those areas.
In his remarks, the commissioner of education Johannes Jigem, said the state will unequivocally remember the Governor as a governor who cared deeply about Taraba state's educational growth.
Also speaking, the Universial Basic Education Commission (UBEC) chairman, Solomon Agbaizo, lauded the governor's achievements in the educational sector and stated that plans on how to prevent the vandalization of the facilities is already in place. He stressed that old structures in the school were renovated and more new structures were raise. NNL.
