The Bauchi State Drug Revolving Fund (DRF) Committee has sought stronger collaboration with the Bauchi State Health Trust Fund Agency (BHetFund) to enhance access to quality and affordable medicines across the state.
The committee made the request during a courtesy visit to the headquarters of BHetFund in Bauchi.
Speaking during the visit, the Secretary of the DRF Committee, Pharm. Rabiu Abba Usman, who represented the committee chairman, Pharm. Ibrahim Sani Able, said the committee was seeking technical support and cooperation to strengthen the implementation of the Drug Revolving Fund scheme.
According to him, closer collaboration with BHetFund would help address challenges relating to drug availability, affordability and accountability in health facilities across the state.

He explained that the partnership would further support the committee’s mandate of ensuring a sustainable supply of essential medicines to healthcare institutions.

Responding, the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics at BHetFund, Musa Yakubu Misau, described the Drug Revolving Fund as a commendable initiative that has contributed significantly to improvements in the state's healthcare system.

Misau urged the committee to sustain its efforts and uphold transparency in order to strengthen public confidence in the scheme.

Also speaking, the Executive Secretary of BHetFund, Dr. Sani Ibrahim Ningi, pledged the agency’s support towards the success of the programme.

He assured the committee of BHetFund’s readiness to provide assistance in areas such as policy alignment, resource mobilisation and monitoring to ensure effective service delivery.

The two organisations agreed to establish a joint technical working group to coordinate activities and monitor progress towards achieving their shared objectives. NNL.
