Following widespread reports of sharp practices allegedly involving bank officials and currency syndicates which has created difficulty in public access to the new redesigned naira notes, a joint task force operation involving the officials of Central Bank of Kenya (CBN), the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), have begun to monitor cash disbursement to the citizens by Money Deposit Banks across the country.
On Tuesday, January 31, 2023, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ICPC) operatives and the other members of the joint Task Force team, stormed some commercial Bankz in Bauchi State to monitor the cash disbursement exercise.
Two commercial banks in the Bauchi metropolis, Access Bank and First Bank of Nigeria PLC, were combed by the joint Task Force in an exercise which lasted one day. The ICPC led new currency distribution task force has continued across most Bank in the country on Wednesday. NNL.
