The over 130 pupils of the Salihu Tanko Islamiyya school, Tegina in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State who was recently abducted by bandits have been released.

Although details of how they were rescued, whether ransom was paid for their freedom and how much was paid, and who actually paid, were unknown.

However, NIGERIAN NEWS-LEADER findings indicate that about three of the students died while in the bandit's captivity but we could not yet ascertain who died in captivity among them and the number of pupils involved.

The rescued children were said to be on their way to Minna, the state capital, as of 9 pm on Thursday, August 25, 2021, when freedom was procured.

Details later. NNL.
